You know after 'Fade', reading Northern Lights was a must. I so love both of them, I know I emailed you numerous times for updates to this fic. . I have read it so many times now and have constantly checked to see if there's more now that you are back. Please Please don't let this fall by the wayside, my imagination does not do your work justice in trying to imagine what comes next. Also missing updates to Best of Intentions (Awesome), and The Brat Pack (Wonderful). If you don't update them I'm going to imagine their conclusions very poorly in my own mind, lol. Papa Charles! My heart can't take it that's too cute it should be illegal (except not, I hope we get to see more of him interacting with/sneaking pre-dinner sweets to his precious grandbabies ahaha)
This is shaping up to be quite a suspense story. I know I already said that the fluff might give me a heart attack or something, but I'm retracting that statement and trying my best to prepare myself for whatever horrors you definitely have planned for this family. Haha. ha... D:

Mary was like my dark horse favorite from Fade. I'm so tickled that she's back and she's raised five boys with Kenny and obviously hasn't lost any of her attitude. I cheered a bit when Kenny, just like Logan, makes the mistake of assuming that it's perfectly okay for boys to get handsy and such with girls - and both Mary and 'Roro put them in their place, haha. That's awesome.
Ororo and Jeannie riding the winds together though, that's beautiful. I like that Jeannie is predictably her daddy's little girl, but mother/daughter relationships are like the bane of my existence and I'm so happy you have it in this story. I already know that it's going to be the death of me for this one. Welp.
That cliffhanger, though! Can't wait to see what comes next!
PS, I'm really excited that you're writing for the X-Men again!
Author's Response: Haha. I absolutely HATE that double standard, so I thought I'd let my girls address it. You know, Mary in Fade was supposed to have one scene. The cafe, she was going to have about 3 lines before I killed her. I'm SO glad I didn't, though. Mary is such a huge part of Fade and Northern Lights.

As sinister (ha ha I'm so punny) as the last scene of this chapter was, I'm pretty sure the rest of it is going to give me cavities.
Sometimes I balk at the idea of characters like the X-Men living quiet and sedate lives like this (especially Storm, I think, who I always picture as someone who would always have a cause to fight for, always the champion of the oppressed.) - But I remember what they'd been through and think that if anyone deserves a quiet life, it's them. Particularly after everything you'd put them through in "Fade", haha.
