Damn, i didn't even get a chance to review last chapter. Well i like this fast updating though. I love this story, it has some really good moments. Roro kissed Yukio!!! Didn't expect that! I loved teh way Mariko kept pushing Logan towards Ororo, she realised they fit together. Can't wait for the next one!
Author's Response: Ororo and Yukio...kind of an odd "not really a pairing" pairing in this story. I always thought Marvel left their friendship kind of vague and open-ended. Part of why this story is called "Consolation Prizes" is because a) Yukio doesn't want to be Logan's consolation prize for losing Mariko; and b) Ororo feels the same way in regard to making Logan feel better in the wake of being dumped at the altar. And c) less obviously, Yukio wants to win Ororo away from Logan, but she ends up settling for a bittersweet goodbye. Originally, I was going to post this to Aff.net as a threesome fic, but I decided to go a cleaner direction with it, and I like this version better. The scene that made me laugh when I wrote it was that kiss in the hospital room; I'm picturing Logan looking flabbergasted and envious.

I was that close to doing a happy ending for happy's sake, but the thought occurred to me, there's always been myriad obstacles keeping these two apart. Sometimes it takes both of them getting free of a few things going on in their lives before they can have some "down time." Ya know?
Might even start off the next segment of this with a bang...plenty of pun intended. I already have bits and pieces of this story floating in my head.

I wanted the interchange between Ororo and Mariko to at least seem worth saying...I hope it was. I like the idea of Ororo going to bat for Logan that way, even if her own feelings for him are becoming conflicted.
