augh!!! tested by what!!!!

Author's Response: Still deciding! Hint: The Yakuza is involved. Remember how Yukio is "bait for the trap?" Woo hoo!

Gah!!!!!! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. You can NOT stop there. OMG this story is sooooo good. I am hooked. I'm supposed to be writing an essay for class right now. If I bomb it, I'm blaming you :P

Update soon, purty please.

Author's Response: (hee hee hee hee) I actually wasn't going to stop there, but I was mired in writer's block and that was where I left off. Sucks, doesn't it? Sure, blame me, everyone blames me... Which class is it for? Working on the update as we speak. Yukio will come away from this (more or less) in one piece, but not without a fight!!!! I like her too darn much!

Its me again. And the 'Arena' you mentioned. Its from XXM? You do know that was one of the most panned story arcs of that series, right?

Anyways. As good as ever, if a little (well, more than little) bad for Yukio.

When's the next update?

BW

Author's Response: Next update is moving at a turtle's pace; I'm having writer's block, and I'm dealing with household stuff and have little to no time to write when the ideas start to come to me again (which happens when you have three kids under the age of ten). But thanks for reading it up until now, I always look foward to your feedback on my 616 universe stuff, since you have the best memory for character history. And yes, Arena WAS panned widely and badly, but it did offer Storm and Yukio the chance to hang out and cause trouble together, so I will be writing future chapters that refer to it "loosely" and take that story in ways that I thought the original should have gone in the first place. I haven't taken leave of my senses yet, BW...not yet, anyway! There go my marbles, rolling around on the floor...sigh. Thanks for reviewing.

I never know what to say after I read one of your chapters. They're all so craftfully woven, and I feel my words don't do it the justice it deserves. Torture scenes can be hard. I think I closed my eyes the first time I wrote one. And I still do. You did good with what you gave us, though. There was just enough information for me to get an idea of what's going on and how bad it really is for Yukio. Nice work. Can't wait to see more. :)

Author's Response: (grins) Yeah, any further torture is going to take a lot out of me. The next chapter is going to take some thought (at least more thought than the ones prior, ha ha). I'm home watching my own three kids and babysitting my nephew today, as well as nursing a fat lip from an accident that I had at home two days ago. I also am completing two dresses for my nieces for a quinceanera this weekend, so I will be busy. Isn't real life fun? Thanks again for reading. And I LOVED the Odalisque update.

I'm dead. You killed me--especially with this chapter. The descriptions of the scenes in this chapter were very vivid. I could see it all in my head. Though, I keep hearing "Wakey, wakey. Eggs and bakey (bacy?)" from Kill Bill when I read that last paragraph. Darn having a Kill Bill fanatic as a best friend. Can't wait for the update.

Author's Response: Eggs and bakey...that's a riot. I never saw that movie because it looked too violent for my taste, but Tarantino comes up with some good lines. I actually got that phrase "Wakey, wakey" from that song "Fortress Around Your Heart" by Sting; not the song itself, but the music video that came out, like, YEARS ago. (I'm SO old...): "Mistah Sting, Mistah Sting, wakey, wakey, Mistah Sting!" The update is moving slowly, because I hate writing torture scenes. I haven't written many, thank God...they make me itch. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Tempest. Good hearing from you.

WOW! That was...impressive. I mean Ororo being brought back to life by her own lightning! I loved that scene. I feel so bad for Logan, not being able to be with Mariko. But as soon as he gets over her he will realise that 'Roro is much better. Loved the chapter! Update soon!

Author's Response: The only thing that got lost in that scene was that Logan and Ororo were supposed to be seeing each other as he unburied her from the rubble in her subconscious; the way I had it scribbled down, it made it seem like she woke up before she zapped herself, not after. After issue 174, there were a few issues of X-Men that had Logan making a scene at Mariko's house, yelling at her out front and giving back the honor sword of her clan. It seemed like during that time, Ororo and Logan began showing up together more often, too, and building their friendship. I've always wondered why it was never developed sooner. Glad you liked it. Thanks for reading.

You trying to kill me? Is that it? 'Cause, DAMN woman! THat was amazing!! Heartwrenching, breathtaking, edge of my seat amazing!! Please update soon. (yeah, yeah, I know) Anxiously waiting...

Author's Response: Your piece, Winds of Change, came to mind after I wrote it, but I decided to keep what I had and change it, so it wasn't any mystical connection that brought Ororo back to life, so much as her own stubbornness and her need to help Logan save Yukio. The thought occurred to me, the woman has lightning, she can be her own defibrillator!!! No instant recovery like you had, though (although that was fabulous). There's some "awkward moments" during her recovery that I'm still thinking about. For some reason, the mental vision that I had of the doc jumping back and grabbing his own chest made me laugh enough that I had to jot it down...not trying to steal your stuff, but I am definitely inspired.

Either you are planning on a good long fic or this isn't a RoLo (well, not romantic anyway). Hope its the former rather than the latter.

BW

Author's Response: It is a mid-length fic, maybe seven or eight chapters, long ones. We're looking at more friendship than anything else, but Logan will question himself a bit as to why he's let Ororo go this long, and she'll give him good reason. I'm leaving room for a sequel that will develop out some of what happened in Arena and God Loves, Man Kills, since it has some of the same character dynamics and history. More updates, likely this week.

Hey. When did you get two chapters up without my knowing. Just finished this and going over to the next one.

BW

Author's Response: Hey! Haven't heard from you in a while, BW. Glad you visited. I'm home off work for a while until things are straightened out with our business sector, and I'm waiting to hear from a recruiter, so I will be writing a teeny, tiny bit more often. I'm enjoying your most recent piece, by the way.

I loved the dream sequence! The whole story ties in well with the issues you drew inspiration from; again, great characterizations! *Said without a hand to the hip... this time* Can't wait til you update!

Author's Response: Pressed for time, as usual, and I'm hovering between PCs at the moment. But I've been daydreaming this story quite a bit lately, and itching to scribble some notes on my son's half-used notebooks, my leftover 3M tabs from work, and any other piece of scratch paper I can get my hands on to nail the plot before I lose it. Glad you are keeping up with reading it, even if I'm creeping along ssssllooooowwwllyyyyy...

0.o - You really scared me with Ro on the brink of death! Don't do that again! LOL Good thing Logan was there to save and free her, refusing to leave her side.
Logan, poor guy. If I could I'd jump right into the story to just hug and hold him.
And Yukio... it's gonna be hell for her, right? Damn, I hope she finds a way to escape or something... even though I don't have the slightest idea on how she might do that with all that crap pumped into her.

Author's Response: Yukio is a stubborn girl, too. And Ororo won't be lying around in bed too long, I promise. And Logan has an axe to grind with the bad guys who threatened both of his sweeties, once I figure out how to write it...

*Hand on hip*

So, like... what are you reading this for? On with the show! (And you ain't half bad at writing fight scenes now are you?)

Author's Response: Stinker...the hand on the hip is my thing that I do when I'm impatient with everyone else's updates! And thanks for the vote of confidence. Still planning other fight scenes. Still coming up empty, but working on it.

Oh damn. 0.o
How bad is Ro hurt? And what about Yukio? Not able to move but able to feel pain. I don't even want to think about what Viper is going to do to her... :/
Please don't let us hanging here too long! This cliffhanger is evil!

Don't worry about writing fight scenes, they were awesome! *thumbs up* :)

Author's Response: Wonderful praise, indeed! I figure Viper still has something of a grudge against Yukio for ruining not just one, but two attempts at ambushing Logan and his fiancee, so things may get kind of sketchy, we'll see...with a name like Viper, woman's gotta know her poisons! Ororo still has some life in her if she can fly, albeit shakily; we'll patch her up soon, I promise. Could get interesting.

Loved the kiss, even though Ro wasn't really conscious LOL. Loved it even more that Logan had to put quite some effort into breaking apart from her, heh. Too bad Ro doesn't seem to remember any of it...
Very moving when she opened up the skies letting them cry for him while telling him over and over again that he was worthy.
Those two... damn, they just fit. As teammates, friends and more :)

Author's Response: I wanted 'Ro to kind of "wake up" into the kiss, but I hadn't planned on any "action" that soon, so I kept it brief. I wanted Logan to kind of have a chance to "think" about his feelings for her a little in the wake of his broken engagement. That moment in issue 174 when Mariko kind of lowered the boom on Logan always breaks my heart, and that was what was running through my head when I wrote this. I've always thought Ororo understood Logan better than anyone. I agree, they fit. Thanks for reading, Steph.

I love they way you write these two togetehr, Logan and Ro i mean. The plot sounds interesting, but i have a feeling Ro won't enjoy her stai at Mariko's, especially since Logan is still drooling after her. ;) Lovin' the story! Update soon!

Author's Response: Nope, she might not enjoy it, since she's got a couple of gaping wounds right now, but Logan will be walking wounded when he drags his carcass back there, poor guy. The plot? What plot?? (chuckles helplessly) Even I still don't know what the plot is, but I'll get to it eventually...
