*chuckles* This is a great chapter, Cee. A wonderful start. Even as a weary old man, Logan still has the spirit and spunk of his youth. This is really great. Excelllent job. --- W6C

Author's Response: You know me. I love Logan as much as I love RoLo itself. I see him as someone who would age with character and dignity, even if he had to rely on other people. I hope you get to read a couple of the updates I made to this story in your nonexistent spare time, AND I hope you get to update Eye. You know I adore that fic. Thanks for the lovely feedback, and thanks for visiting, W6C.

Damn. That's a mighty fine tale you got started here. Full of humor, pain and longing. Great start!

Author's Response: Glad you got the chance to peek at this one, Burnz. For whatever the reason, "pain" was the main prompt that drove me when I wrote this. But you know me, I like making Logan mutter some of the twisted thoughts in my brain! Thanks, buddy.

I just love this! More soon!

Author's Response: Thanks! I wasn't sure how people would respond to it, since it takes Logan to a lonelier place than some of the stuff I write about him. I tend to go the direction, usually, of trying to push Logan toward his friends and family, but this is kind of showing what happened after all of them were gone. Speaking of which...I want an update from you, too, buddy!!!

You set the scene perfectly with your descriptions, CeeCee. You can clearly imagine everything that's going on and feel the emotions that the characters go through. Beautiful *muah*

I hope Logan's with Ro soon.

Author's Response: I want him with 'Ro soon, too. He deserves to rest, but I think that after keeping a lifetime of secrets, and of having so much of his past buried from himself from memory implants, brainwashing, his healing factor forcing him to forget, etc., he will want to unburden himself before he leaves this earth. I'm glad you liked it, Libra, thanks for visiting.

Awesome! This is the first reply to this challenge, an i like it a lot...It's interesting to think just how old Logan is if his healing factor has stopped working properly...Great fic! And i'm glad you liked the song, i love it (never heard the Celine Dion version though - which is probably a good thing).

Author's Response: The Celine Dion version is this cloying, shouting bellow of a ballad that doesn't deserve to be referenced!!!!! I like the one you sent us better, Ana. I hope more people reply to your challenge, it was a fun one.

You are a true talent. Your descriptions are fantastic. Everything about the nursing home reminded me of when I used to visit my grandmother. You captured the feel of the place so well in this chapter. I also like that the characters are still mutants even though they are retired.

Raven cracked me up and made me sad. Her stuffed animals made me feel for her. She's done terrible things in her life, but she was always one of my favorite villains.

The convo b/t Logan and Matt made me want to jump to the next chapter. I can't wait to read the story of Ororo and Logan. I hope that Logan finds his way to 'Ro by the end of this fic. He seems so sad here.

Can't wait to read more. :-)

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed this, and found it real enough. Raven could be any woman late in her life that has done things she regrets and has lost people she loved, that was what I wanted to touch on, since she is so frequently a woman who burns her bridges. Matt can't wait for the next chapter, either, of Logan's saga.

wow... I don't know if that made me sad or made me want to grin. I'm kind of curious about the chips though. Anyway, great story!

Author's Response: It's hard to say what drove me to write this one. I used to work in a nursing home as a housekeeper, among an older population, and it gave me a lot of insight into things like human comfort and how people react to day to day routines when they don't have many days left. The chips will come into play in this one, not sure how. Read the Mystique series by Joss Whedon if you have not yet, Tiger. 24 issues, well written, and she is implanted with a sensor that helps the government track her whereabouts. Good stuff.
