Awesome! 'Ro head butting Emma... LOVED it! Go 'Ro!!! :D
"So deep and dark, like chocolate,” I totally "mmmmmmm"ed with Emma here. LOL

But gads, why'd you stop here?! *dies* Sooo can't wait for the next chapter, Cee. I'm off to bed first though; it's too late already. Can't wait to wake up. LOL ;D

Author's Response: Ro and Emma make great enemies. Yeah, get some sleep, woman! Thanks for reading.

aww poor 'Ro... she'll be okay right?? And aren't Kitty and Ali going to join?? Well at some point, right?

Author's Response: Kitty is soon to be on the roster. Ali, not yet. She came along to the team much later in the Uncanny continuity, right before Longshot joined, and when Rogue still had two separate personalities. 'Ro will be fine. That's what Logan is for.

....cliffhangers aren't very nice Cee!!! And I still wanna go after Emma with a bat.

Author's Response: Wasnt supposed to be a cliffie. I fixed it. There were a few paragraphs that got cut off when I forgot to close an italic tag. They made it out. The aftermath is next.

Wow, is there MORE trouble coming their way? And hasn't Scott yet learned there's (relative) safety in numbers? Brilliant! I can't wait for the update!

Author's Response: It's like Scooby Doo, when Fred says "hey gang, let's split up. Shaggy, Scooby, you look for the monster while we look for clues." I'm glad you enjoyed this, Ana!

Have I mentioned that I love this story? It's really making me want to read the old comics... or beat Emma with a bat made out of diamonds... that would hurt her wouldn't it?

Author's Response: Love the image of Emma running from Tiger and her bat...might hurt her a little. Read Uncanny issues 130 and 131. Shoot, just pick up an Essential X-Men volume instead of the back issues, it's less expensive, even though they are in black and white. Volume two is when John Byrne started drawing it, and he's still one of the best artists that worked on that title. He draws Storm the way she's supposed to look.

Cripes, indeed! :D
Poor Kitty. In the middle of a fight. Everyone around her turns out to be a mutant all out of a sudden. What a shock. And she doesn't even know she's one herself yet.
Gads, Emma! *rolls eyes* I actually could smell her perfume! ;)

Author's Response: heehee! I have some of that perfume in my house that my mom gave me, and it's very, very girly and flowery smelling. Glad you enjoyed it, Steph.

my review didn't go through yesterday!!! argh...

anyway, I loved this chapter. Emma is such a bitch! How dare she say that about 'Ro. I'm glad she didn't get Kitty. I like Kitty in this.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Tiger. Ya know I love 'em. Emma has always been that way in the old books, and she isn't even that nice now as a good guy. Well intentioned but selfish. Glad you like Kitty!

Whoa nelly! What a chapter! Emma is one cool customer. I can't wait to see what Kitty do. Great job.

Author's Response: I can't wait to see what Kitty does, too. I need a copy of Essential X-Men to go back over those back issues. Glad you liked Emma.

"Don’t let anyone else decide it for ya. It’s gotta be somethin’ that makes ya wanna wake up in the morning and that don’t trouble ya before ya go ta bed at night. A man’s gotta be able ta live with himself and the choices he makes, bub. Remember that."
How true. I like the flashbacks and the retelling of shadowcat's entry into the X-Men. I enjoyed the entire scene in the ice cream parlor and the white queen's hand in it. Go Kitty.

Author's Response: I love those old Claremont issues and the old school stories, particularly the ones with Kitty saving the day. Glad you liked Logan's mentality in that scene, Sinjin. If I don't talk to you before then, Happy Thanksgiving.

This story always has this kind of sad undertone because you know that most of the people are gone, but yet at the same time you get so wrapped up into Logan's memory that you forget and just go for the ride.

Excellent Cee.

Author's Response: Glad you're following me on this crazy ride, girl. I like movies that start with the main character acting as the narrator. I don't know why. Amadeus, Titanic, Fried Green Tomatoes. They all get me. Thanks for reading and the nice review.

I love this story Cee, it really brings back a old feeling of the golden years. I have not thought of the charecter of Proudstar in a long time but i really dig the way you protray him. The charecter was only around for a few issues so nobody really expanded on him and i think you have done one hell of a job..

Author's Response: You know me, too, buddy, I love old school Claremont stories. Proudstar used to tickle me. I always wondered why they never retconned him or conveniently brought him back when his brother Jimmy is in so many stories now. Thanks for the review,

I think the best parts of this story are when Logan’s old. I dote on those chapters like Matt dotes on Logan. I’ve only read one other story where he was old, either Philip or W6C wrote it I think. A very good story too, one reason because it hadn’t been done before. So many of the same plots have been done over and over that sometimes stories can feel like the latest retread and they all kind of blend in together but not here in the least.

In Fix Me and this one you mentioned Stevie and I’m wondering if it’s Stevie Hunter. If so I’m again beyond thrilled. For some reason I just like the idea of stories including past and present members and people that were involved in the X-Men’s lives as well as Marvel’s characters that would feasibly fit. I don’t really want to see the Power Pack gang in a RoLo – lol – but other than that it’s always a delight when an author includes key figures from the Marvel Universe.

I found the John and Ororo interaction fascinating. For a moment I thought this could actually work but then his conversation with Logan after the kiss in the hall and I’m thinking just what Logan called him - a$$hole and yet John’s so rough, just like Logan, I can see why they had to eliminate him, rather redundant but still I can’t help enjoying how you write him. Piss or get off the pot – damn! That’s brutal and humorous honesty to boot. I was however surprised when he gave in so easily saying he’d apologize but maybe I wouldn’t like him so much if there wasn’t a sense of honor to him or at least a sense of right and wrong. I will say this, Cee you wrote him so sexy I might have had to start fanning myself if it had gone on any longer. That amuses me but it’s also a good sign of a good author, that and I have a think for big (or short), bad men. You can keep the girly metro men thank you very much – well, except Legolas and Remy. Okay I’m babbling.

Alrighty then! Now why didn’t anyone at Marvel see what you’ve so clearly shown us? I mean you have one woman on the new team and seven males, the woman’s half dressed and fine! Someone’s going to be interested if not a few of them. I did like how Claremont had them appreciate her beauty though and had Peter looking out for her, even getting furious with Logan for his snotty attitude towards her. At first it seemed as if Claremont was leaning towards a Peter Ororo hookup but then again over the years there was always that inkling of an Ororo Logan hookup – damn Jean. I’m just kidding about Jean, I like her, probably always will though how Ororo can stand her constantly going on in her head like an annoying child (bouncing up and down – very funny, I could really see her doing that in her excitement) is beyond me. Privacy Jean – please!

But there’s something charming about the childish behavior you have going on here. Jean’s fun, the guys racing to sit next to the cute girl, oh what a laugh I got out of that! That has to be my favorite part, in fact one of the best little scenes I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading in fandom. I’m still chuckling at the memory. Overall a wonderful and fun chapter that I’ll remember for a long time to come!

Author's Response: Man, that was great. I love how you review and read me in such detail, Darlene! Makes me happy when people note all the little nuances and fiddly bits that I toss into a story, or get the same value I do out of them. Proudstar, what can I say about him? I always thought he was interesting and funny, even though he was crass. I think that X-Force did a good job (for a sub-par comic) of creating a great character in his brother Jimmy. I always thought they could have, or even should have given John that treatment, too. The scenes with Matt...man. Those tend to come to me easily, and I also like the idea of an old Logan. I don't think I read W6C's story or Phil's where he's old, but if you find a link, shoot it my way. But yeah, Jean. I've never been a Jean hater, but I think she's sometimes overexposed and overhyped. I just like their friendship. Her bickering with Ororo in some of those Classic issues was cool. Or even the Inferno scene where they're fighting and Ororo suddenly says "it's good to see you again, Jean." I love that. I don't like writing metro males, either. They just don't appeal to me, except to parody, like Pietro in Money Dance. I hope you stick around for more silly scenes. I love writing them.

A very, very good chapter, Cee. I love how you bring the elements of the beginning of Uncanny into the story. You've done a really, really good job.
