I make a law out of never touching unfinished fic, and I've skipped this one so many times in the past for that exact reason. But I have this habit of reading reviews, you know? And this one has glowing ones! SO I got curious, decided to try the first chapter and, well. Twenty-two chapters later I'm hating myself because unfinished fic on a cliffhanger? Why do I do this to myself?
Oh right, because it's worth it. Ugh, Miss Cee, you write some amazing AU's, did you know? I don't generally like the idea of it, but I'm pulled into your terribly realistic AU's time and time again. It's crazy.
I love this. I find myself trying to comprehend all the technical sales talk (I'm vaguely disappointed you don't have Bobby as an up and coming talented young accountant in this!) , but other than that, I forget that everyone in this story were once mutants. They seem to fit so seamlessly into your universe. As they always do, in every AU you write.
Hope to see this continue, but end with a happy ending! Because dang if you didn't give Logan and 'Ro backstories-from-hell. They deserve some happiness!

I like AU's. They suit me. My original stuff when I started writing here was strictly canon-based from the comics, until I read Jasmine's story "Life's Surprises." She took those two in completely different directions, even though I still recognized them as I was used to seeing them, albeit vaguely. But it was entertaining, and I wanted to do something like that. That's where "Never Been One for Wine and Roses" kinda came from.
I'm trying to get back into this story. It took me about two, no maybe three years before I finally updated Abandon, and that took a lot out of me. This story is next in line, along with Focus, to get some of my attention. Hope this reply finds you doing well. I don't get out here to the Realm that often anymore. Take care, Marbles.

OK I broke my cardinal rule of not reading unfinished fics (I have a deathly fear of abandoned fics) which is a testament to your awesome writing skills! And I am not disappointed I did!
Even though I want to take Logan and Ro's and smack their heads together and scream, "Just talk to each other!!" this has been an awesome story so far. I'm also glad that Scott might have found a love interest.
This was a great chapter although I was hoping that maybe Logan would have followed her to NY and kissed some sense into Ro!! I hope you get to update again soon.
PS I hope your life has been less sucky since this update.
Author's Response: It's not abandoned, it just keeps losing its place in line. I'm working on fics for three different fandoms, and this one actually has the best chance of being finished sometime in the next few months *I won't promise weeks, since I run short on time and can't get organized*. Logan will get it together and go after her, once he realizes what they both stand to lose by just twiddling their thumbs and making mountains out of molehills. Thanks for the review!

Hee! I've missed this story so much. Don't know why I got so lazy. I've been grinning like a fool all day reading this. Was even standing out in a 90 degree plus track meet today reading it on my cell phone. I know I said it earlier but I have to say it again, Damn woman...you are awesome!

I've learned to be a pessimist with lots - LOTS! - of practice, and Ororo was getting too dreamy-eyed, I had to throw some angst in there or people would get bored. I'D get bored. So sue me. Anyway, let see. Besides the Selena thing which, Ro has a good case on. Not to mention she filed it correctly. Ro and Logan, both need to learn how to ease up on each other. And just leave business aspect of their lives alone. They boy have difficult jobs, that require a lot of time and dedication. No point in making harder on each other.

What's crazy about these two is that they never knew they worked together when they hooked up on vacation, and they strike me as two people who NEVER would have s**t where they ate, dating someone who they work with if they had their way and hadn't done things backwards. But there it is, too much chemistry and things in common to deny what's between them, so they have to live with it and learn to play nice. That part's coming. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
