This isn't just a filler chapter; you've introduced more characters with conflict in their histories and built up the tension between Jean and Ororo. This is good. If Jean weren't pregnant, it'd be great to see a catfight between those two!

Must agree with you about the book Memoirs of a Geisha – wonderful read. But I wonder about the choice of having Chinese actresses play the Japanese Geisha’s. It's something I hadn't thought about despite knowing the lead was Chinese but then it was mentioned on the BBC a few weeks ago. The Japanese people are not pleased and they shouldn't be. Myself, I was crestfallen when I thought about it because I was looking forward to the movie. Sadly It reminds me of the ‘olden’ days when Blacks/African Americans, Mexican's, Asian's and Indians were portrayed by White people as if it didn't matter, as if real people of color were not good enough, or articulate enough or pretty enough and that rankles a bit.

Maybe because I'm old enough to remember when Dianah Carroll (sp?) starred in Julia and how wonderful it was to have someone that looked like my mother and my family on TV. Here we have commercials and television shows with all races and sexualities and yet it seems Hollywood's still stuck in that ‘they all look alike’ phase. Maybe I’m just too particular but that bothers me. It bothers me enough so that I won't be going to see the movie. Hmm, guess it rankles a whole lot more than a bit. Sorry for the rant. Man, Julia was sooooo long ago! :D

Well, after reading both chapters I had to take some time to think about the ending. I'd have to say if you'd ended it two chapters ago I would have been satisfied and hopeful for a sequel but the next two chapters pretty much acted like a sequel. It's very ambiguous though I loved the whole Creed, bon bon and robe part. Ambiguous but finished nonetheless. She's happy so does she want him now? He's there and that says so much. Very ambiguous. Maybe I'm just sad to see this story come to an end.

Nice story, but I found the ending to be awkward...has she moved on , or is she calling out to him to come to her and then are they together? are you planning on a sequal?
