Author's Response: *hands QT a tissue* I cried a little to myself when I visualized the scene in the hospital room and Ororo\'s breakup in the garage. Deep, ugly arguments in a new relationship suck. I figured it would be that much more frustrating if it was between two people who had already lost someone who they loved, when they were establishing a deeper connection. I was exploring similar territory when I wrote Never Been, it was kind of a next step in the story I told here, and Money Dance followed a similar route, building on what I wrote in this one. I never really realized that they were really similar til I went back and reread them. Thanks so much for enjoying this story, you made my day.
Summary: Ororo and Logan return to the fold and pick up where they left off in “Consolation Prizes.” The dust hasn’t settled yet at the School for Gifted Youngsters. These two aren’t ready to settle for anything less than a soulmate, either. Back story gleaned from Uncanny X-Men, pretty much any issue between #173 and #200, as well as the Kitty Pryde and Wolverine mini-series.

Author's Response: Thanks! These are two of my oldest stories out here on the Realm, and I often forget about them myself. Initially, this was going to be a trilogy. It never panned out that way. I lost my momentum somewhere along the way, and my original focus kind of disintegrated. I wanted to write a follow up where Ororo had to duel Callisto again after she lost her powers, where she got involved with Forge to get them back, and where she and Logan separated for a while but then came back when they realized how much they needed each other. There was also going to be more backstory with Kitty, when she became a ninja assassin in the \"Kitty and Wolverine\" miniseries, but that never quite happened. I had too many story drafts in progress at the time *again* and it just disappeared into the ether. Thanks for your interest and feedback, visit any time.

Another wonderful!!. It's amazing how you can take the characters and make something new, yet stay true to who they truly are.
Your story was so relatable I could easily put myself in it.
Author's Response: I take the characters a little out of character sometimes, when I write this AU fics, but I like bringing in elements of things that I feel people will easily recognize. Everyone who works in an office has had a boss like Emma at one point or another. Everyone loves an honest mechanic. It\'s hard not to buy a dress and ask your girlfriends if it makes your butt look big. THese are the things that I ponder from day to day, and I can\'t see why fictional characters wouldn\'t, too. Glad you saw and agreed with some of my visions that I snuck into this story.
