“…..take him down”

An hour later,

“Cyclops,” Jean Grey’s voice sounded through the intercom of the blackbird. “Can you hear me?”
“Yes Jean,” Scott answered.
“I need you to come back to the mansion immediately.”
“Come back?” Scott looked over to his passengers, Ororo, Heather and Remy. “Why?”

After their conversation, Ororo and Heather had gone to Xavier and had commandeered the Blackbird to try to reach Logan’s cabin before he did. Heather had informed them about the route. They would have to land about a hundred miles from the cabin and drive the rest of the way, with a steep walk up hill for the last one mile. Xavier had instructed Scott to accompany them and Remy had been adamant to accompany his sister.

“Scott, you need to come back,” Jean repeated, her tone tight and secretive. “Its….its about Wolverine.”
“Wolverine?” Ororo jumped from her seat. “What about him? Did he come back? Is he alright?”
“I can’t tell your right now,” was all Jean said. “So please come back.”
“Sure,” Scott shrugged his shoulders. “If he is there, what are we doing going to Canada.”

‘I have a bad feeling about this,’ Heather frowned mentally. The same thought was going through Ororo’s head, although for different reasons. While Heather knew that Logan wouldn’t return on his own, Ororo was sure that something was wrong with him. Jean’s tone and her own gut feeling told her as much. Logan was hurt.
“Scott, please hurry,” she urged her pilot teammate. “Something is wrong. I can feel it.”
“Wrong? What is wrong?” Scott asked, although even he had a niggling doubt about what Jean had revealed. She was hiding something.
“I don’t know,” Ororo shook her head, her knuckles whitening as her grip on the hand rests tightened. “I just know it. Please hurry.”

Scott nodded his head and pushed the jet even further to its limit.

Meanwhile,

“This is bad,” a mysterious female voice sounded, a scene of carnage before her. “But then again we knew this might happen.”
“You knew?” Forge tore his eyes from the gore and guts spread all around. “And you still let this happen. You could have stepped in and helped to save some of them. Why?”
“Why? First of all, they weren’t my men, and the second and more important reason, I need an entry into Xavier’s den. I have some work to do there, something personal. Your helping them will make your position there stronger and that in turn will make ‘our’ position stronger.”
“What kind of work,” Forge narrowed his eyes. “And what will your boss say about making things personal.”
“He is one to talk,” the female answered, a sadistic grin on her face. “His whole life has been about making things personal. First, the Nazis, then humans and now even his old friend, Charles Xavier. Anyways, he is not my boss anymore.”

“What? You left Magneto?” Forge’s eyes widened. This was something he hadn’t expected.
“Yes,” the female’s blue eyes flashed to yellow as her black hair turned red and her creamy skin blue. “Erik and I have parted ways.”
“Lover’s quarrel?” smirked Forge.
“More like differences of opinions,” Mystique clarified. “I have moved on and I want you to join me and stop playing your double ended game.”
“What do you mean?” Forge narrowed his eyes.
“Oh, you know what I mean,” Mystique ran her hand over his shirt-clad chest. “I know your game. You are with the x-men, but you are also with the government and then there are your secret ‘phone’ partners.”
“How do you know about them?”

“Oh, I know many things lover,” Mystique came closer. “I know that you plan on giving it all up one day and settle down with your precious Storm, that black bitch.”
“And….”
“And, I also know one more very important thing,” Mystique whispered into his ear, her tongue gliding out to lick at the earlobe. “I also know that, even if you are able to get her, you won’t….you cannot give up this, us. You are addicted to me, just as I am to you.”
“You presume too much,” Forge pushed her to arm’s length, his finger tips rubbing against the scaly sides of her large breasts.
“Do I?” she smirked, her eyes going down to below his waist. “Your body doesn’t seem to think so, but if you think, maybe its true. So I guess I’ll be seeing you.”

With that, she broke away from his grip and started walking away, her smooth hips swaying and enticing him.
“Where do you think you are going?” Forge stepped behind her, his hands coming to rest on the curve of her waist.
“Where do you think?” Mystique changed back into her previous disguise.
“There is a motel nearby,” Forge jerked his head towards the right. “About ten minutes away.”
“And….”
“I want to go there,” he kissed the back of her neck.
“So, go,” she seemed unaffected as she wiggled her ass against his hard on.
“And you too.”
“What about me?” Mystique tried to pull away.
“I want you to come with me there,” Forge pulled her back.
“Why?” she gave him a innocent look.
“Because I want to fuck your brains out,” Forge finally gave in. “And I know you want that too.”
“You sure,” her innocent smile turned evil. “I can just as well get it from Victor. He is also ‘gifted’ in that area. His tools and toys are larger, more impressive.”

“But does he know to use it,” Forge grunted with jealousy. He knew that Mystique slept around. Sex was something she used to get her way, and she was well adept in it.
“Yess…..” Mystique gave a mock sigh. “Sex with him is very intense. He really knows how to treat his woman.”
“So you are his woman now,” his grip on her hips tightened, his fingers digging into the soft skin. “You like being fucked by that animal.”
“I like being fucked,” Mystique’s eyes twinkled. “I am my own woman. Neither his, nor Erik’s…..nor yours. You all are my men.”
“You know you are a dirty filthy whore,” Forge grunted into her ear.
“I know,” Mystique pushed herself into him. “I just use and sell my body. I am not like you. You will sell anything and everything. Maybe that’s why we work so well together.”

“Maybe,” Forge was getting angry now. “We are two of a kind. So what are you going to do about it?”
“Nothing,” Mystique shrugged her shoulders. “Just going to get in my car and…..”
“And….”
“Going to drive to that motel you were talking about,” she finally broke away. “I am free till tomorrow night. That gives us about a day and a half. Although you have just two minutes to follow me…..”
“Or…” he started after her.
“Or I leave…” Mystique grinned at him. “Then you can go back to your mansion and jerk yourself while thinking of your Ororo.”
“Her,” Forge scoffed. “She is nothing to me now. The bitch turned me away for that animal. Now I just want to get her to come to me, so that I can pay her back….with interest.”
“Hmmm…a man after my own heart,” Mystique chuckled.
“You don’t have a heart,” Forge shot back.
“Of course I don’t maker,” Mystique opened her car door. “And even I did, I wouldn’t give it to you. I know you too well for that.”

Getting into her car, she pulled away from the gravelly side road and onto the highway, with Forge close behind her.

Back at the mansion,

“Henry, how does it look to you?” Jean asked her doctor colleague, teammate and friend.
“He is severely injured,” Beast pushed back his glasses. “And these…these ‘things’ stuck to the back of his neck, they have tentacles growing inside of him and are directly connected to his brain. I don’t how to remove them.”

Jean nodded her head. “And we can’t just pull them out.” She gestured to the remains of their first attempt. Whatever those things were, they had explosive charges in them and were set to explode, how and when was still unknown. The two doctors had tried to remove one and it had exploded, blowing away part of Wolverine’s neck away. They were also afraid of the affect it had had on his brain and were avoiding touching any other of the ‘bombs’.
They didn’t know whether they served any other purpose as Wolverine had lost consciousness and couldn’t even be reached telepathically.

“We will have to wait until Forge returns,” Jean finally said.
“I agree,” Henry nodded. “Where is he? Wasn’t he the one who brought Wolverine back?”
“Yes,” Jean rubbed her face. “He had to leave for some important government work. He had left the first time, but ran into Wolverine. He was being attacked and Forge helped him, but not before they were able to inject him with these,” she pointed to Wolverine’s neck. “Together, they fought off the attackers and then Forge helped him into his truck and brought him back.”
“Lucky for Wolverine that Forge found him,” Henry commented. “Must have been the people who had captured him before. Who else would try to attack and capture him.”
“Hmm….” Jean mused. “Who else?”

----

On the Highway,

Mystique dialed a number on her phone. After a couple of rings, a deep male voice answered.
“Yes.”
“The first move has been made,” she spoke to the mystery man. “Your ‘professionals’ worked just as planned. They got the work done.”
“Good,” the man replied. “You know what to do next.”
“Yes,” Mystique glanced at the rear view mirror. “He is with me.”
“I have complete confidence in your skills,” the man chuckled. “You should have your entry by tomorrow night then.”
“Yes,” she agreed. “And then we move onto the next step.”
“Sorry about your lover.”
“Yeah, real bad, huh,” Mystique chuckled. “He was…..is a nice lay. I intend on getting my fill between now and tomorrow.”
“Whatever you do on your free time is none of my concern. Just remember our plan. Don’t forget it in your own personal vendetta.”
“Yeah, yeah sure,” Mystique answered offhandedly. “You will have your x-men, I just need the weather witch.”
“That was our deal,” the man answered. “You keep your end of the bargain and I will keep mine.”

*Click* the call ended.

-----

Reaching the motel, Mystique got out from her car, her eyes twinkling at Forge, who had pulled in alongside her.
“Ready lover,” she cooed at him.
“Ready as ever,” he answered back, his hand going around her waist.

“Then come on,” she started walking towards the front desk. “You are in for a memorable experience. One that you will remember for the rest of your life.”

‘….Or what is left of it’
