Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
Who are young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one anymore

Their laughter danced on the wind. Her white locks flowed freely behind her. She laughed freely, such a rare thing her laughter was. The speedometer read 120 and her heart rate seemed to match. His laughter melded with hers and their voices seemed to send a shock wave throughout the still night.

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people
And I want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their home
And I'm welcome no more

They’d fled the mansion as it was just that a mansion and no longer felt like their home. It hadn’t felt like a home for years and so she quietly excused herself from the dinner table, though no one seemed to notice. She snuck to his door, intending to say her goodbye. She hadn’t expected him to be there waiting for her. She had never allowed herself to even dream that he’d shared her feelings. They shared a kiss and left for good.

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

All the things they’d never had the courage to say flowed freely as they exited the gates and headed down the long less traveled road. No one would notice their absence for a time and when they did the two would be long gone. He hadn’t left a trace this time. She hadn’t left a note. They’d run away together into the night as they’d both secretly dreamed in the corners of their minds hidden form their mind reading friends.

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
But then a strange fear gripped me
And I just couldn't ask

She drove down a forested side street at breakneck speed and their laughter only rose. They looked at each other then and all the feeling they’d kept hidden where conveyed without either uttering even a syllable. They held hands and a shock went through the both of them. The laughter stopped for a second as they both donned small knowing smiles.

Take me out tonight
Oh take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
No, I haven't got one

Their breaths hitched as the lightning blue convertible shot into a tall grass field. The speed of the car slowed just slightly. A full smile greeted her as she stepped on the pedal and her eyes turned milky. The rain was like a second birth. He let his head loll back as he wailed at the sky. There were no words she could think of to describe the feeling overtaking her as they sped through the rain and from the glazed over look he sent her way she took it that he felt the same way. They came to the end of the clearing. Their laughter seemed to echo as the tail lights of the car disappeared past the edge of the cliff. Three lightning bolts blazed through the sky and they never stopped.

There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
