Hot hot hot hot! Geezus.

I come to read this for the plot, but the added bonus of steamy semi-unresolved tension is fantastic in this, especially in this chapter. I normally don't appreciate it when it's so vulgarly worded, but it suits Logan's personality quite well in this story, I think.

Can't wait to read more. I really like this fic so I'm glad you're picking it back up!

Author's Response: thank you! I used to --once upon a time--cringe at such vulgar words but now? I quite like them. I'm glad that didn't completely turn you off from it....I just see Logan as such a potty mouth! lol

This is way cuter and funnier than it has any right to be, oh my goodness. I've been giggling at every other line, what even.

I love the kids' reactions to their de-aged selves. How awkward this is all going to be when they've been aged back up!

Oh! I forgot you were uploading this here too. Nice surprise to see it on top of the Recent list, so I went and reread this latest chapter again. Gah. Glass case of emotion, etc etc...

I hate them both in this, though. They're both being stubborn in their own ways! Both have sound reasons for doing what they do, and flaws in their rationalizations of things. They really do need to be thrown into a room and locked in there so they can, ahem, work things out. Like... adults. Yup.

~Lychee b29;

Author's Response: Heehee, I always love hearing from you. I'm trying to catch up here with my chapters from FF.net. And I kind of agree, this is one of the chapters where I want to shake them myself, but they're human and they're flawed and there's a bit too much pride between the two of them for this to end amicably. But they make up for it soon anyway.

(aka Lychee)

The imagery you use here is some of the best I've read: "She smelled like the oasis in a desert. The only water for miles. (...) The scent of acacias was drowning him."

Powerful stuff! (not in the least because acacia trees are a favorite of mine haha)

I miss your writingggg~

Author's Response: I love acacias too but I didn't even think of that when I was writing. Somehow the image and scent fit my idea of Ororo. I'll be updating soon I promise! Thanks for stopping in.

Props to Logan for keeping his cool for as long as he did there, before dropping the word 'wife' into the conversation, haha. I mean, he did just walk in on his wife(!!! jeez I gasped aloud at that part) and some stranger playing tonsil hockey...

Though that does beg the question, just how messed up was their relationship before this, if Ororo was so sad before the accident and if Logan was brooding in another country.

Burning questions!! D:

Author's Response: Hey Marbles, You definitely give me something to think about in tweaking my already finished fics. All I can say is thank you for the burning ideas your review brings to my mind. ; )

I agree with your other reviewers - you may want to edit this a bit (the sequence or something maybe?) if it's looking like people aren't understanding your story the way you want them to. I got a distinct non-consensual, rape without reason (as Pari put it) vibe from this, even after reading chapter 2. If that isn't what you want this to come across as, look into editing or maybe getting a betareader? Or at the very least, put a trigger warning label on the summary. I don't read smut all too often, and I tend to steer clear from the particularly triggering things (like non-con or bdsm or whatever) so this made me a little uncomfortable.

Haha, oh my goodness. I really enjoyed this. Boys will be boys, and that was really funny to read, but I love the sisterhood between Ororo, Jean and Betsy. People often forget that they have such a close bond, so it's nice to see them so close here.

Author's Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It's good to know that someone else likes the rapport between those three females. Hope you don't mind that I like to change up the personalities of the guys for shall we say license...lol. Looking forward to more from you also Marbles. : )

I READ THIS IN ONE SITTING AND BY THE END I HAD CAVITIES I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY

ugh no but seriously what a great fic. logan and ororo have a fantastic friendship, one that is built on trust and similarities that go deeper than what most people see in them at face value and often people forget that in favor of writing straight up romance. I love that this was written as them getting to know each other first, accepting each other's pasts and flaws (he still smokes and swears and drinks his beer and baits Scott and she still befriended him; she is emotionally closed up and didn't want to let him in and he coaxed her out of her shell and do you know how beautiful that is? that's beautiful, man! D8)

my only nitpick: you never mentioned her lovely house-to-be again!
--- clearly it's a way for you to squeeze in a sequel, aha.

just... you go, babs. four for you, babs. definitely write more for this!!

Author's Response: haha! thanks for the thorough review; I really appreciate it.Not enough people care about their friendship and immediately fall into their sex life and that's not relationships work; there's gotta be communication. And because you're so perceptive, I have to admit, there are obvious holes because I wanted to keep writing. Like the mark on her skin, how he never told her about his dream, and just the regular aftermath stuff. So!-- fret not, there will be a sequel. Just... don't hold your breath, I am a college student. *shrugs sheepishly*

Ah, I really like this fic! I like that it isn't very linear (or, it doesn't seem to be?) I dunno, I think it's hard to pull off a story made up of a series of scenes that don't really lead up to one another... but when done right, it's very poignant and lovely and artfully done. Which is what you do here!

And man, I love how it's really obvious how their friendship has soured. Don't get me wrong, it's extremely distressing because I love Jean and Ororo as BFFLs but here it's really obvious that they used to be friends and now they're just using this sweetness to mask how bitter they are. I wonder what happened there?

Author's Response: I tried to make it flow, but I can't seem to do it, but thank you for letting me feel like that's not such a bad thing. Your compliments are so sweet lol! I like them as friends, too, but I like the drama of being friendless. All will be revealed, but thank you for the review. Much obliged.

yells a lot because all this would all be fixed if they just spoke to each other!!!

Haha, I love all this emotional tension. I feel for Ororo, of course, but man she isn't helping the situation by being so tightlipped and flippant about things. At the same time, I'm sure she's gone through issues of her own that Scott and Jean need to understand! (Which they might/should, if she spoke about them??)

Logan's got the right idea though. She needs some space and a non-involved party. Then she needs to come clean.

I can't wait for the next bit! Don't feel bad about the slow updates, they're great and worth the wait, in my opinion. :)

Author's Response: Some people are terrible at communicating! Haha! But yeah, she needs to stop being so head strong and just bend a little. Which she does... And I really feel badly about not updating quickly. It's frustrating because the longer I'm away, the less I'll update. THANKS FOR THE REVIEW.

Oh, aw, Logan being protective is cute. At first I was like ?? Logan, being considerate and taking her out on an early morning date?? And then his quip about making it up in the car came up and I grinned. Stay classy, Logan.

That said, I can imagine Scott and Jean not taking this big reveal seriously (gosh I hope I'm wrong but at the same time that would make for great drama), since on face value it could seem like a shallow reason. But this is a curious chapter where I can actually claim being able to relate to Ro's experiences here. So I don't blame her.

Great job, as always!

Author's Response: Lol I had to break up all the bad with something good, otherwise this story would be too drama heavy. That being said, I like drama so their reactions to Ororo's answer can't be perfect. But yeah, I drew a lot of inspiration from Kim Daul (like, so much of the dialouge is her.) And I'm really sorry that you could relate but it's nice to know it's believable. THANKS FOR THIS AWESOME REVIEW

Oh, sad to hear that this may be scrapped. I am a little addicted to your RoLo fic - your work is my favorite of this couple right now.

That said, I am cautiously optimistic about this story. I like the pensive nature of it. This chapter was wonderful. You can really feel the sad, wistfulness that comes with remembering things. And to me, that Ororo is sharing that with Logan here is far more intimate than what they got up to before her talk. (except I would not complain about reading about that, too! haha.)

Anyway. Cautiously optimistic. Because I feel like this could get very sad, very fast and sad fics of this caliber make me want to jump off a cliff.

Hope you don't abandon this! I love it a lot already.

Author's Response: You make me so happy! I am gonna make sure you approach that cliff but don't jump off-- the muse for this story is dark and wants some deep shit (sorry-- I had shots before doing this so I just figured while I'm sobering I might do thinking stuff.) I'll stay faithful and thank you for the support/ review.

Worth the wait! Especially since I'm only getting to these two chapters now, haha.

It's not easy to write conflict, but you managed it really well! Also, congrats on passing the Bechdel Test! This fic of yours is now officially 5000x more awesome.

Excellent teasing, though. Mean, but it keeps us hanging and now I'm itching to know what happens next! You're such a great storyteller. :)

Author's Response: Really? I wasn't even aware I wrote a conversation like that... Didn't feel like it so I'll just take your word for it. I swear the next chapter will illuminate some things for you. This is gonna be a beast of a story, so thank you for the compliment! I appreciate it!

So in the movieverse, Scott and Ororo's friendship is a favorite of mine to read about! I feel like it doesn't get much attention (like, at all haha) so this chapter was lovely to read. I mean, there's still an obvious rift between them here. But also history (and what kind of history remains to be seen!!)

also gosh wow the way you tease with Ororo and Logan! Subtle, but wow. *fans self*

The plot thickens!!! Yeesh, talk about a rollercoaster of drama. Poor Logan, he must be confused as heck (and probably dying from blue balls??) But wow, Ororo. All those mixed signals. And what is this mysterious history, inquiring minds wish to know!

That said, her approach to sex is pretty telling. But I guess Logan makes it hard to say no...

Anyway. I love the way you write their introspection. The way you phrase things so simply and frankly but also thoughtfully is great to read.

PS, I hope you feel better soon. Find a girl friend, a pint of Cherry Garcia and a fun action movie with gratuitous explosions and unnecessarily shirtless men?

Author's Response: Yeah, they're pretty screwy. Hopefully something will change soon... And thanks for caring! It means a lot, though I suppose I should be used to the idea of flings not lasting. It's cool, though. Thanks for the review, it means a lot.
